  • Improve real-time flexibility: teach polite and power levels of core Meeting English skills
  • Raise students’ confidence: able to speak suitably according to topic, person, and location
  • Confirm language students know; introduce new language; provide many role plays 

Schedule

One-day schedule: 7.5 hours

Two-day schedule: 15 hours (2 x 7.5 hours)

“Before” role play (Day 2 afternoon: “After”)

Intercultural Communication: International Business Demands Flexible English

Polite English in 3 Levels and Softeners; Agreements-Disagreements; Opinions; Clarifications; Modals – using may, might, can, could, will would, shall, should, must in Meeting English; Suggestions; Possibilities; Facilitating meetings

Meeting role-play to practice the above skills

 

  •  Day 2 

Intercultural Communication: Silences; Body language; Interrupting practice 

Explaining Frames: assembling in complete packages Agreements-Disagreements; Opinions; Clarifications; Modals; Suggestions; Possibilities
